Dignity Matters
Health. Confidence. Opportunity.
Through hands-on service and community partnerships, we're helping women and girls access essential products with dignity.
Everyone deserves dignity.
For women and girls experiencing financial hardship, access to menstrual products, underwear and bras can be a daily challenge. These essentials support health, confidence, school participation and the ability to go about everyday life without unnecessary barriers.
That's why the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury supports Dignity Matters, a Massachusetts nonprofit that provides essential menstrual care and undergarments through community partner organizations. Our role is simple: show up, lend a hand, collect needed supplies and help connect more neighbors to resources. Learn about Dignity Matters' mission.
How Shrewsbury Rotary is helping
Our service plan brings together volunteer time, donated products and local partnerships.
Pack essential care kits
Our club plans to participate in group Period Pack-a-Thons, assembling menstrual care kits for distribution to people who need them. We also hope to serve alongside members of the Westborough Rotary Club.
Organize community product drives
We'll invite our neighbors to contribute menstrual care products and help raise awareness about period poverty. District grant support will also help us purchase underwear and bras to complement community donations.

We're working to connect Dignity Matters with organizations already serving Shrewsbury residents, helping essential products reach more people through trusted community relationships.
Strengthening the network of care
As part of this initiative, we intend to explore partnerships with local organizations whose work already supports families, students, women and girls:
- St. Anne's Human Services Food Pantry
- Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services
- Shrewsbury Public Schools
- Shrewsbury Diaper Pantry
These are planned outreach relationships, not a claim that formal partnerships are already in place.
Making hands-on service go further
In the 2026–2027 Rotary year, our club received a Rotary District grant to strengthen this annual service effort. The funding is intended to help offset participation costs for Period Pack-a-Thons and purchase essential undergarments to supplement products donated by the community.
The grant also creates an opportunity to work with the Westborough Rotary Club and broaden our reach through local relationships. We look forward to sharing updates as activities take place.
How you can be part of it
Whether you're a Rotary member, a neighbor or a local organization, there are practical ways to help. Volunteer with Dignity Matters, learn which products are most needed, or contact our club about collaborating on a community collection effort.
