A Community Garden in Honor of Kevin Doherty
Community Garden at Jordan Pond, A Tribute to Kevin Doherty's Life
From one life grows a community united in peace, kindness, and hope
Jordan Pond has been a beloved part of Shrewsbury for generations — a place for fishing, boating, ice skating, and quiet moments in nature. Everything changed on August 28, 2025, when Kevin Doherty lost his life to a senseless act of violence while walking home from his child’s school.
Together with Kevin’s family, we are working to reclaim this space by creating a community garden that reflects the resilience, compassion, and hope that define Shrewsbury. This garden will be a living tribute to Kevin’s life and a place where healing and connection can flourish.
We welcome all residents to participate in shaping a space that will serve future generations and stand as a testament to the strength and compassion of our community. Although the project is in its early stages, there are several ways to get involved.
