Hello everyone!

Our next in person meeting is on September 19th when the DG Victor Tom will join us.  As is customary, the DG has asked to meet with the board 30 minutes prior to the regular meeting. If you are a board member, please mark your calendar now so that you may attend. We will meet at 11:30 am that day as a board and continue with our regular meeting at 12:15 for those who are able to stay.

The Board will meet via Zoom on Monday, September 12th at noon. I will send a Zoom link in a separate correspondence along with a draft of the revised bylaws which will be the main focus of the Board meeting.

The Foundation Board is meeting this Wednesday, September 7th at 9:30am. This is the annual meeting necessary to elect officers and maintain our 501c3 in good standing.

I want to share the excellent news that we received a District grant for $2500 to be used for our Emergency Preparedness Kits project! I would like to get a team together to come up with a plan to acquire the needed items and get this project underway. If you are interested in participating please let me know (email or text).

A huge THANK YOU to Julie for her work in submitting a successful grant application. Julie has decided to step away from the grant process in the future, so our club will need someone else to take on this role. That person will need to complete a training program.

We have a few upcoming events with space available for participation.

Feed My Starving Children is this coming Saturday, September 10th and there is one space available in each session for a volunteer. It would be great to have a full team of Rotarians working together for this great cause. Remember, friends and family are welcome to join you. Sign up below.

I will be reaching out via email to those who have signed up for the Spirit of Shrewsbury on Saturday, September 24th. There is still a need for help with set up. We will need a pop-up tent and table and chairs, and whatever items we want for the display. Roy and Art have offered to create the lottery ticket basket that we will raffle off. This is the link to sign up for our booth at the Spirit of Shrewsbury:

Our fall recycling fundraiser is Sunday, October 16th from 9am-noon at Town Hall. Friends and family are welcome to join us and help. Here is the sign up:

TIPS CERTIFIED VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Yuletide Market will be here before we know it! The event will be held on Saturday, December 3rd.  Stephanie reminded me that we will need to have members be TIPS certified if we want to sell mulled wine this year. If you are willing to take the online certification (it is not a very large time commitment) please let me know. The club will reimburse you for the cost of the certification. Those we earned their TIPS certification for the Brew Fest would need to recertify as the original certification has expired.

This was a lengthy update, so thanks for hanging on until the end!

Beth
